The SGH 8 is Robins’ medium-capacity seat and guide machine designed to machine everything from small single-cylinder heads to large diesel cylinder heads. This model does not include the Smart screen interface and is built for shops that prefer a fully manual, mechanical control setup.
Fixed carbide pilots and an air-float workhead ensure rigid centering and precise seat-to-guide alignment. Robins multi-angle tooling with Rubi-Hard inserts provides stable cutting on all materials, including powder-metal and diesel seats.
An integrated guide-honing system finishes guides within 0.0001″, improving concentricity and valve sealing before seat machining. With variable spindle speed, ±15° tilt, and a 360° roll fixture, the SGH 8 supports automotive, diesel, industrial, marine, and performance engine applications. Optional pilot, tooling, and fixturing packages are available.
